Robin, Judy and Frank all decided to take a rest day after our Gornergrat hike. I was up for another hike, so I ventured up the west side of the valley from Zermatt to the Hotel du Trift at the top of the Triftbach. It was another beautiful day for hiking but with no trains or ski lifts on this side of the valley, all 800+ meters of elevation gain were earned.
