The third part of our Italy trip involved driving from the Umbrian town of Citta della Pieve to Abruzzo town of Lanciano to visit Robin’s sister and brother-in-law who teach at a Canadian high school there. The weather this day was much better than two days before and we enjoyed the drive through the northern Abruzzo mountains.
In Lanciano, we took several walks through the town and visited the nearby towns of Fossacesia, Ortona and Guardiagrele with Joe and Nancy. Once again, we had several good meals including dinner at the Ristorante Ai Vecchi Sapori, where the antipasto platters and truffle pasta were terrific.
