Amsterdam Light Festival 2013

After a very successful initial run in 2012, the Amsterdam Light Festival returned in 2013 with an expanded program of light-based installation art. The walking tour “Illuminade” started very close to our new house, so on the last Friday of the program, we met up with our friends Cindy and Peter and took in the sights.

There were several interesting exhibits but the one that gathered the most people was “Floating Light” by Wouter Brave (pictured above). From the Festival website:

Countless light bars float in the dark space, creating an abstract world of light. It is a visual and optical experience as light bars dance to an endless choreography.

With a relatively strong wind blowing, the light bars were certainly dancing.
